A Manifesto for Humanistic Management: The Power of People in the Age of Intelligence

Three central questions will be discussed in this workshop:

• Why do we need to change current management theories, practices, and education at business schools NOW? 
• What do we need to change in our current management theories, practices, and education in order to re-establish the link between management and HUMANITY? 
• How is this change affecting management RESEARCH, management EDUCATION, and management PRACTICE?

Today we have to re-invent the term management for knowledge work in a human and digital economy: The intelligence economy. The future of management must no longer focus on the hands of human beings only but on the collaborative intelligence that emerges when human creativity, intelligence, and passion are responsibly augmented by artificial intelligence. 

This workshop deals with the power of people and explains why leaders need to better understand human-centered management, master human interaction, embrace affective skills, cultivate attentiveness and transform the way we educate the next generation of leaders. By participating you will gain new insights why prevailing theories and practices must change in order to strengthen the link between management and humanity, and how this acceptance of change has lasting impacts on business policies.

Interactive Workshop - Building Greater Trust in Health Systems

Health systems around the world are under unprecedented pressure. Scientific and technological breakthroughs are advancing faster than ever, from AI-assisted diagnosis and personalized medicine to novel therapies and digital care. Yet innovation alone does not improve health outcomes. Without trust, even the most promising advances struggle to reach the people who need them. Trust has become one of the defining challenges of modern healthcare: trust between patients and providers, between professionals and institutions, between public and private actors, and between societies and the technologies shaping the future of medicine. 

This highly interactive workshop brings together an international group of healthcare leaders to explore a central question: How can we build health systems that people trust and that are therefore capable of adopting meaningful innovation?

Rather than a series of presentations, participants will engage in facilitated dialogue, sharing experiences from their own countries and health systems. Representing diverse perspectives and institutional contexts, they will examine what strengthens trust, what undermines it, and which leadership approaches create the conditions for innovation to flourish. Together, the group will identify common patterns, emerging principles, and unresolved tensions that will serve as the foundation for further discussion at the Global Peter Drucker Forum which follows

From Frontier Science to Strategy: Boardroom Signals Before Markets Emerge

Abstract
Breakthrough science does not automatically become breakthrough industry. In this session, leading scientists from quantum physics and life sciences explore what business leaders can see from the scientific frontier before scientific breakthroughs turn into marketable solutions. What is already real, what remains overhyped, which bottlenecks block commercialisation and which signals should CEOs look out for? It also examines how management and collaboration turn scientific promise into strategic opportunity.

Rather than a technical lecture or market forecast, this event aims to provide thought-provoking talks and a panel discussion which translate frontier science into early-stage recognition of next-generation innovation, entrepreneurship, corporate strategy and value creation.

Session purpose
This 120-minute pre-event panel at the University of Vienna is designed for Drucker Forum participants and senior business leaders. It is not a general science lecture. It is a strategic conversation about how frontier science may turn into the next generation of industries.

Core question: Which scientific breakthroughs are becoming strategic options for business leaders before they become marketable solutions?

The session is built around insights that participants are unlikely to get from a standard consulting report or popular science format. The aim is to elicit what only top scientists close to the frontier can know: what is technically real, what is overhyped, what insiders take seriously, which bottlenecks matter, and which signals executives should monitor.
