    Fact: the more regulated an industry, the more profitable it is. Why? Because incumbents in telecom, tech, inurance, pharma, autos, etc. use their power to shape regulations to their liking. Why build your own moat when you get regulators to do it for you?

    Sorry , Warren is right and you're wrong. The share of US profits attributable to "market power" (i.e., moats), is at an all time high. That's a fact This is bad news for consumers, citizens and democracy.

    Revolutionary change comes slowly at first and then in a rush. We are 12-24 months from a tipping point in which combustion vehicles will be seen as hopelessly outdated. It will take and 10 yrs to catch --and longer to rebuild a reputation for leadership.

    Great to see playing again. I enjoy , but suffer from "projectile dysfunction." In no other domain of human activity is the correlation between intent and outcome so small (with the possible exception of romance).

    Three times today I yelled "Hey Siri" at my Echo--which just sat there, dumb as puck. Still can't figure out why Alexa didn't just say, "I think you've got the wrong girl," and then, rather more angrily, "Who the hell is Siri, anyway?"

    2018 is the year consumers start to regard Big Tech as more menace than magic. Google and Facebook are devious, data devouring predators--a threat to privacy, competition and democracy. They deserve the same, tough, anti-trust treatment that was meted out to AT&T, IBM and M'soft
