Meet the Winners of the 2026 Global Peter Drucker Challenge

„Culture between Tradition and Change - How does Culture drive Innovation?“ - that was the theme of this year‘s Global Peter Drucker Challenge essay contest, an annual focal event for aspiring young managers, entrepreneurs and students in the run-up to the Global Peter Drucker Forum 2026 in Vienna. The participants were invited to reflect on culture as a unique force between tradition and change and as the glue that holds human relationships, organizations, companies, even entire societies and nations together.

849 students, young managers and entrepreneurs from 74 countries all over the world, and from impressively diverse personal backgrounds, professions, and cultures, submitted their essays - a new record number of participants, reflecting the growing global importance of the contest.

The use of AI tools in the preparation and writing of the essays was not prohibited, but it was also not encouraged. If used, it was to be limited in scope and disclosed. In its evaluation process and in the selection of the winning essays, the jury also gave preference to those essays in which a clear personal voice was evident.

A judging panel consisting of Kelly A. Nault (Assistant Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior at IE University in Spain), Karen Linkletter (Research Director of the Management as a Liberal Art Research Institute in Alhambra/California), and Elizabeth Haas Edersheim (author of „The Definitive Drucker“ and a member of the Judging panel since 2010) selected and ranked the 10 most outstanding and original essays in the final round of judging.

We invite you to read the essays on the Drucker Challenge website and meet the 10 finalists in both categories in person at the 2026 Global Peter Drucker Forum, taking place at the Vienna Hofburg in Austria on November 4 and 5.
