I can understand how a business could make better decisions when they have an effective corporate board. getting some help from a professional could allow them to be safer. It was interesting to learn about how they can set the right strategy, outcomes, policy, and compliance with the right kind of management.

Peter’s comments are on the mark and totally pertinent. I use a term ‘pro-active governance’ to discuss closer interactions between BoD and executive managers. An overlap can exist that allows for nimbleness and faster responses to events. A well defined purpose statement should replace mission statements and long term plans.
