How a New Generation Must Be Equipped to Lead In a Crazy World

We are delighted to announce the 15th Peter Drucker Challenge Essay Contest.

The contest aims to engage the young generation in addressing the opportunities and challenges of our time in the light of Peter Drucker’s human-centered management philosophy.

As in previous years we invite students, managers and entrepreneurs aged 18-35 around the globe to submit an essay on:

THE WHAT - THE HOW - THE WHY & YOU in the Next Education
What we would like to hear from you in your essay

When you envision your own work and life ahead, are you worried by technological change – or is it geopolitical, societal, ecological, psychological/socio-emotional or some other kind of disruption you wish you felt more prepared for?

If you could design the “next education”, how would its focus change?

Do you feel that the education you received (or actually receive) prepares you well for the challenges of our times? If not, what would you suggest to change?

Do you believe that the traditional Western model of education is still valid?

Do you feel that you have increasingly to take charge of your own education? If yes, why?

What should be preserved and what will be disappearing in learning and teaching? Think about continuity and change.

What kind of skills and competences will you and your peers need more of in pivotal times?

How to achieve access to education across socioeconomic and cultural divides?

Please note: Past challenge winners and finalists who have already attended the Drucker Forum in Vienna are not eligible to enter the 2024 contest. The good news: keep abreast of opportunities to remain connected with the Forum here: www.druckerchallenge.org

Since 2010 the Peter Drucker Society Europe has provided award winners with scholarships to achieve higher levels of exchange, mutual learning and intercultural understanding at the Global Peter Drucker Forum.

The contest is designed to complement and enrich the multi-generational exchange of views and ideas at the Global Peter Drucker Forum, the 16th edition of which will take place as an in-person event on November 14 and 15, 2024, in Vienna/Austria (pre-conference day: Nov. 13, cultural day: Nov. 16)
