Joseph A. Maciariello is Marie Rankin Clarke Professor of Social Science and Management Emeritus and Senior Fellow at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management. He collaborated with co-authored with Peter Drucker to publish the bestselling books, The Daily Drucker (HarperCollins 2004) and The Effective Executive in Action (HarperCollins, 2006), and Internet Modules, Driving Change (Corpedia 2004). In 2008 he revised Peter Drucker’s Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices (HarperCollins 1973) published as Management Revised (HarperCollins, 2008) and in 2009 he revised Peter Drucker’s book Management Cases (1977) published as Management Cases Revised (HarperCollins, 2009). He and Karen Linkletter co-authored the book Drucker’s Lost Art of Management: Peter Drucker’s Timeless Vision for Building Effective Organizations (McGraw-Hill, April, 2011) upon which Maciariello’s TEDx talk, www.youtube.com/watch, is based. Many of the themes in the TEDx talk have been extended and appear in his publication “Innovation and Management for the Common Good: Drucker’s Lost Art of Management” which appears in Entrepreneurial Management - Challenges and Perspectives: Festschrift for Prof. Peter Gomez. Haupt Berne (2012). His talk “Peter Druker’s Theory of Work has been viewed on You Tube by numerous students of Leadership (open.biola.edu/resources/peter-drucker-s-theology-of-work). He has authored the Foreword to The Classic Edition of Peter Drucker’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship published by Routledge in 2015.

He taught the course “Drucker on Management” for MBA and Executive MBA students for ten years and has prepared The Peter F. Drucker Curriculum for use throughout the world. The curriculum was revised and translated into Japanese in the 2011. He has trained faculty members and executives around the world in Peter Drucker’s vision of a functioning society in which individuals have status and function and are led by leaders of integrity.
He prepared the course “Management as a Liberal Art” which was taught for the first time in spring 2013 at Wheaton College in Illinois.

He published A Year with Peter Drucker: 52 Weeks of Coaching in Leadership Effectiveness on December 2, 2014. This book resembles The Daily Drucker but is devoted to doing for others what Peter Drucker Did for a few during the last twenty years of his life. He is currently working to establish the graduate course, Management as a Liberal Art, at a major university in Hong Kong. This course is a significant revision and expansion of the pilot undergraduate course first offered at Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.) in spring 2013.

His current research involves applying the lens of Drucker’s Effective Executive to the leadership and management practices of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
Many scholars consider Lincoln to be America’s greatest President.
