Biography

Stephen Harding is a Director in the London office of Towers Watson, the international HR consultancy. He has consulted in the area of employee research and organizational behaviour for the last twenty years and currently has responsibility for managing employee research projects for global and European clients.

He has worked on employee surveys in most industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, high technology, oil and chemicals, retail, inter-governmental and the not-for-profit/NGO sector, and is particularly interested and experienced in advising clients on cross-national differences in employee perceptions and on ways to sustain and enhance employee engagement.


Stephen has recently co-authored with his colleague Tom Davenport a book on the changing role of Managers in organisations: Manager Redefined: The Competitive Advantage in the Middle of your Organization (Jossey Bass) and he will be referring to the themes in this book during his break-out session at the Forum. His interests also extend to the role of cultural values and he previously authored (with David Phillips) the book Contrasting Values in Western Europe, (Macmillan).

Stephen has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Sussex in England.
He is a Chartered Psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society. 

He speaks fluent French and Italian.
